Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $7,500 to the Faison Preservation Society. Monies granted will be used to fund the Faison House wallpaper restoration project. The mission of the organization is to maintain and preserve the historic Nathaniel W. Faison House for future generations.

As of March 14, total intake for 2025 at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 294 – 159 dogs and 135 cats in need.As of March 14, the shelter had 78 animals in its care – 64 dogs and 14 cats.
