Colorado Valley ICA to hold annual dinner, trade show

The Colorado Valley Independent Cattlemen’s Association will host its annual trade show and dinner on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the KC Hall in La Grange.

The annual dinner gathers members from Colorado, Fayette and Lee counties. This year, the trade show will have a special sponsor, Purina, in conjunction with distributors RT Farm & Ranch and Giddings Pet & Ranch Center.

The event will also feature booths, auction items and door prizes.

Last year, the trade show and dinner brought in enough money to double the amount of scholarship monies given away, compared previous years, plus increased the amount awarded to each recipient to $1,000 from $500.

“The chapter’s immediate goals this year are improving the scholarship amounts and finding ways to maintain our way of life,” the chapter’s new president, Les Mallory, said in 2012. He is breeder and cow/calf producer from the Round Top area.

The Colorado Valley Chapter of the Independent Cattlemen’s Association, with over 400 members, is based in La Grange, and represents Colorado, Fayette and Lee counties.
