Larry James Melnar
Larry James Melnar, 60, of Hallettsville, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1951 to Victor W. and Viola Krizak Melnar in Weimar. He married Rose Ferris on Feb. 13, 2004 in Waco. He was a member of SPJST and Czech Moravian Brethren Church in Vsetin.
Mr. Melnar is survived by his wife, Rosa; two sons, Vince Joe Melnar and wife Sophie of Hallettsville, and Jim Melnar of Shiner; daughter, Coren Melnar Baladez and husband Jason of Hallettsville; sister, Carolyn Rokyta and husband Larry of Port Lavaca; nephew, Brian Rokyta of Victoria; niece Darlene Rokyta Baker of Port Lavaca; and four grandchildren, Cameron, Jade, Elaina and James Baladez.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral Service was set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Czech Moravian Brethren Church in Vsetin, with Rev. Dr. Mark L. Labaj officiating and burial in the church cemetery. Named to serve as pallbearers were Royce Dusek, Victor Dusek Jr., Jason Baladez, John Kuene, Brian Rokyta and Emil Joe Dusek. Named to serve as honorary pallbearers: were Hilmer Appelt, Wess Michalcik, Dan Motal and Frank Chovanetz.
A prayer service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at Kubena Funeral Home in Hallettsville.
