Four SHS cross country runners qualify for Region IV-2A meet

All three Lady Horns who competed in the District 28-2A Cross Country Meet on Monday, Oct. 6 earned a trip to the Region IV-2A event. In addition, one Shorthorn placed in the top 10 at Green-Dickson Park to qualify for regional, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Texas A&MCorpus Christi.

Lady Horns fall in four sets to Ladycats after sweep of Ganado

Weimar stayed undefeated in District 27-2A and handed the Lady Horns their first district loss with a 3-1 win in Schulenburg last Friday.With a 3-0 victory at home over Ganado on Tuesday, the Lady Horns’ season record stood at 25-13 entering play this week.

Horns miss scoring opportunities, ’Cats come thru with key conversions

While the Shorthorns failed to capitalize on three turnovers and dropped three touchdown passes, Weimar converted four times on pivotal plays to take home a 41-26 win in Schulenburg last Friday.“We just didn’t connect on them,” Horns head coach Clay Ferguson said of the missed scoring opportunities.
