Coach Ferguson refutes rumor about early departure from SISD

Shorthorn head football coach and Schulenburg ISD Athletic Director Clay Ferguson gave the following statements after Friday night’s game in Kenedy to address a rumor that he was leaving or would be resigning after the season in December.“That is absolutely false,” he said.

Cardinals win their homecoming game 34-8 over St. Philip Pioneers

St. Rose celebrated its homecoming last Wednesday with a 34-8 victory over the St. Philip Pioneers of El Campo.The Cardinals allowed one first down after the opening kickoff and then forced a turnover on downs. A sack from Austin Reeves and a bad punt snap placed the ball near midfield.

Lady Horns top two more 4A teams

Schulenburg extended its win streak over Class 4A competition to four matches with a pair of victories last week, improving to 22-12 on the season.On Tuesday, the Lady Horns swept Smithville at home by margins of 10, eight, and seven points in the three sets.

Dickerson & Co. rack up 565 yards in 65-18 rout of Shorthorns

Behind a quarterback that accounted for 411 yards, Brazos celebrated a 65-18 win on its Homecoming night in Wallis last Friday. Jarvse Dickerson ran for 193 yards and three touchdowns while passing for 218 yards and three more scores to lead the Cougars’ 565-yard offensive output.
