Six from SHS compete in regional tennis tourney

Schulenburg High School’s six qualifiers competed in the Class 2ARegion IV Tennis Tournament, held Wednesday and Thursday, May 8-9 at the H-E-B Tennis Center in Corpus Christi.Four of them, on two doubles teams, advanced through the first two rounds before losses sent them to third-place matches.

Registration under way for boys’ summer hoops league

The Schulenburg Hoops Summer League, open to boys with high school or junior high eligibility remaining, will consist of an eight-game regular season on Monday nights in June.The league will end on Wednesday, June 26 with all teams seeded into the championship tournament.

Community League kicks off its baseball season this weekend

Five area amateur baseball teams will take part in the 2024 Community League season that starts on Sunday, May 19.All games are scheduled for start at 3 p.m. unless otherwise noted. No games are scheduled on July 7.

Shorthorns improve by 25 strokes in second straight trip to state tourney

Although the Shorthorn team slipped from eighth place in 2023 to ninth this year, they shot 25 strokes better in their second consecutive Class 2A state golf tournament.

SHS sending six to regional tennis tournament

Four Lady Horns and two Shorthorns will be making the trip to Corpus Christi this week for the Region IV-2A tennis tournament.They placed first or second in the varsity division of the District 28-2A event held last week in Shiner.
