Black Jack Springs Cemetery, located at Black Jack Lane off FM 609 between La Grange and Flatonia, will hold its annual Decoration Day on the first Sunday after Easter, April 7, at 2:30 p.m. The program will be a memorial service, followed by a brief business meeting, fellowship and light refreshments.

Second Chance donates to Faison Preservation Society

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $3,000 to the Faison Preservation Society. Monies donated will be used to build an exhibit to display the Faison family history as it supported the African American influence in Fayette County. The organization’s mission is to maintain and preserve the historic Nathaniel W. Faison House in La Grange for future generations as a tourist destination, an educational example for youth and a source of community pride. Second Chance gives to Monument Hill/Kreische Brewery

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $20,000 to the Friends of Monument Hill & Kreische Brewery Historic Sites. Monies donated will be used to build an outdoor interactive exhibit space for educational, self-facilitated and interactive play for children ages 2-12.
