Jeanette Marilyn Gouldsberry passed away at the age of 85 on Friday, June 12, 2020 in Schulenburg.

Jeanette was a wonderful and caring mother who raised her children well, without burden and with great love and guidance. She had a soulful presence and light charm that rubbed off on her three boys – Gary, Mark and Eric.

She was born Jeanette Marilyn Jane Hertel on Dec. 28, 1934, at her parents’ family home in Freyburg. On Jan. 26, 1958, Jeanette married Ray Gouldsberry, and with him they would embark on a journey in which his career in the emerging high-tech industry would take them to Pittsburgh, Dallas, Florida, Phoenix, Silicon Valley and Portland, Oregon before retiring back to the Schulenburg area in 1999.

In retirement, Jeanette became active within the local community. She co-managed the Navidad Valley Heritage Museum in downtown Schulenburg with Ray through 2007, and co-managed the Tour of Navidad Valley bike event from 2009-15 with her son Eric.

Besides her three children, Jeanette is survived by four grandchildren and her sister, Florence Farek of Schulenburg.

A private ceremony will be held in the near future to celebrate the lives of Jeanette and Ray, who passed away in 2019.
