Mark Wayne Ripper of Weimar passed away on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 in Austin following a heart attack. He was age 58 years, 11 months, 15 days.

Funeral services were held at St. Rose Catholic Church on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 at 11 a.m., with Fr. Tim Kosler officiating. Interment took place in the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Weimar. Pallbearers were Michael Trojacek, Bruce Schimcek, David Kubos, Marvin Kutac, Leroy Krischke, Jerry Kozelsky and Gary Schimcek. Named as honorary pallbearers were Alan Brunner, Raymond Michalec, Marcus Wilson, Brian Wilson, David Geissen, Frankie Osina and Mike Zapalac. Rosary was recited at the church at 10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral, with Fr. Kosler officiating.

He was born on Jan. 31, 1962 at the Weimar hospital to Walter W. and Annie Mae (Korenek) Ripper. A farmer and rancher, he was a lifelong resident of the Schulenburg and Weimar area. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He loved working outside on his farm and with his brother. He was a very friendly person who never met a stranger. He was very active in the Texas Truck & Tractor Pullers Association and was a director for many years.

Survivors include his mother, Annie Mae (Korenek) Ripper; a sister, Judy Kubenka of Schulenburg; a brother, David Ripper of Weimar; and two nieces, Caitlyn Herzik and husband Dustin, and Chelsea Rosenauer and husband Justin, along with one great-niece and one great-nephew, all of Weimar.

Preceding him in death were his father, Walter W. Ripper; and a brother-in-law, Steve Kubenka.

Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
