Richard Hoogendoorn has good reason to be optimistic as he starts his 21st year as head boys’ basketball coach at Schulenburg High. The last two-year period that the Shorthorns competed in Class 2A, they made a run to the state tournament (2014-15) and reached the Region IV final (2015-16).
