Families can pick up devices on March 24
Schulenburg ISD is preparing for distance learning for students beginning on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Any students in need of a device are asked to report to their campuses during the following designated time:
March 24- 8:30-10:00 am Elementary Last Names A-H, 6th graders, Freshman
March 24-10:30-12:00 pm- Elementary Last Names I-P, 7th graders, Sophomores
March 24- 1:30-3:00 pm- Elementary Last Names Q-Z, 8th graders, Juniors
March 24- 3:30-5:00 pm- Seniors, CNA students(report to Elementary)
Any family checking out a device will be required to sign a release before they are issued a Chromebook. One Chromebook per family will be issued. You must come to the school to check out a device. If you are unable to come during your time, please call the office to make arrangements.
If families choose not to use computer-based learning while schools are closed, packets of instructional materials are also available at your child’s school. Packets and other materials, as well as, locker contents can be picked up during the same time frame as their assigned Chromebook distribution.
Be prepared to possibly wait due to complying with only 10 people in each building at one time. Only ONE parent or guardian per family will be allowed into the building.
During this time, teachers and office staff will be reaching out via phone. Please expect phone calls from unfamiliar numbers.
Meal distribution will continue Monday thru Friday using the same schedule and drop off locations as used during the March 16-20th week. Meals are available at the cafeteria from 9-10 am and Wolter’s Park, Blinn College, and Clark’s Trailer Park from 9:15-9:45 am. If you are unable to pick up a meal during this time, please call the office to schedule delivery.

SISD administration issued the following statement:
"While we understand that the coming weeks will prove challenging in many ways, we are committed to using flexible education plans to preserve a continuity of educational services for the students of Schulenburg ISD. Further, our district and campuses pledge to continue to send out information regularly in order to keep staff, students and the community informed. Please understand that this is a rapidly evolving set of circumstances and we will communicate any changes to this plan as soon as possible. Lastly, we are grateful for your continued support as we navigate this unprecedented nationwide crisis."
