Adela Kubos, 88, of Schulenburg, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019 in Hallettsville.
The funeral was set for Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in St. John, followed by interment in the High Hill Cemetery, with Msgr. John C. Peters and Fr. Timothy Kosler officiating. Named as pallbearers were Kasey Steffek, Ricky Steffek, Bobby Blaschke, Ronnie Genzer, Tommy Genzer and Bennie Bartos. Named as honorary pallbearers were Kristen Steffek, Dalton Bubela and Bentley Bubela.
Rosary was said on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home.
Born on July 15, 1931, she was the daughter of Alois and Mary (Boehm) Blaschke. Her marriage to August Joseph Kubos Jr. took place on April 29, 1961 at High Hill. A lifelong resident of Fayette County, she was a homemaker and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Steffek and husband Ricky of Hallettsville; a son, David Kubos and wife Michele of Schulenburg; a sister, Lillian Schwenke of Schulenburg; grandchildren, Kristen and Kasey Steffek; step-grandchild, Dalton Bubela; and step-great-grandchild, Bentley Bubela.
Preceding her in death were four sisters, Elsie Friedrich, Mary Narendorf, Viola Genzer and Alma Jurena; and four brothers, Leo Blaschke, Erwin Blaschke, Herbert Blaschke and Edgar Blaschke.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
