Alfons “Biffy” Joseph Genzer of Houston passed away on Friday, April 17 at 12:59 a.m. at Methodist Hospital-Wilowbrook in Houston at age 68 years, 6 months, 4 days. He had been ill for three years.
Private graveside services were held on Monday, April 20 at 10 a.m. in Schulenburg at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery.
Born in Weimar on Oct. 13, 1951, he was the son of Alfons Joseph Genzer and Elizabeth (Ermis) Genzer Walchar. He graduated from Bishop Forest High School in 1969 and Texas State University in 1973. On Aug. 11, 1973, he married Margaret Sinclair in Schulenburg. He lived in Austin in 1973, and Houston from 1974 until his death. He was a retired engineer. He was a member of the Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 4550 of Houston.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret “Bunny” Genzer of Houston; two sons, Anthony Genzer and wife Renee, and Nicholas Genzer and wife Maggie, all of Houston; a sister, Carolyn Friend of Houston; and three grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
