Rosemary (Kunz) Schindler, age 82 years, 8 months, 17 days, passed away at her home in Schulenburg on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 2:56 p.m.
The funeral was held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in High Hill, with the Rev. Tim Kosler officiating. Interment took place in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were her sons Joe Schindler, Michael Schindler and John Schindler. Named as honorary pallbearers were Nicholas, Michelle, Melanie, Diane, Kyle, Katherine, L.J., Austin, Logan and James.
Rosary was said at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15 at St. Mary Catholic Church, led by the Rev. Kosler.
Born on July 28, 1937 in Schulenburg, she was the daughter of Ferdinand and Hedwig (Klesel) Kunz. She attended St. Rose Catholic School. On Sept. 10, 1956, she married Leroy Schindler at St. Rose Catholic Church. A lifelong resident of Fayette County, she was a homemaker, longtime waitress at Frank’s Restaurant, and checker at Watzlavick’s Grocery Store. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Schindler; two daughters, Rose Ann Cernoch and husband Daniel of La Grange, and JoAnn Lebeda and husband Bruce of Schulenburg; three sons, Joe Schindler and wife Tanya, Michael Schindler and wife Debra, and John Schindler and wife Misty, all of Schulenburg; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Lorine Fitzgerald; two brothers, George Kunz and Clarence Kunz; and a grandson, Christopher Schindler.
Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to St. Rose Catholic School or the charity of one’s choice.
