Weimar KCs Fried Catfish Dinners During Lent

Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will hold a drive-thru fried catfish dinner each Friday of Lent – Feb. 19, Feb. 26, March 5, March 12, March 19 and March 26 – from 5 to 7 p.m. or until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center in Weimar. Cost will be $11 per plate. The Catholic Daughters will be selling desserts.

St. Rose Spring Festival

The St. Rose spring festival will be held on Sunday, March 7 at the Schulenburg Hall. A barbecue chicken dinner with giblet rice, pinto beans and coleslaw will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. or when ready. The drive-thru-only plates will be $10 each. There will also be an online auction, bake sale and drawing.

Financial Workshop at First Baptist Church 

First Baptist Church of Schulenburg will hold a financial workshop on Sunday, March 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. The workshop will be led by Matthew Paul, a Dave Ramsey preferred financial coach. The Dave Ramsey book and other materials will be provided, with lunch at noon for those attending. The workshop is open to the public. Cost is $39 per person or $49 per family. Flatonia Golf Association ‘Fandango’

The Flatonia Golf Association “Fandango” on Wednesday, March 10 will include a pork steak dinner with giblet rice and broccoli salad. Plates can be picked up at the Schulenburg KC Hall from 5 to 6 p.m. Tickets ($11 each) are availalbe at Schulenburg Printing & Office Supplies. In addition, an online auction will be held from March 7-13.

NVCC & BGC Spring Fling Sale

Navidad Valley Community Connections senior citizen center and the Schulenburg Boys & Girls Club will host a Spring Fling Sale on Saturday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. under the Wolters Park pavilion, rain or shine. 

There will be Easter gifts, floral items, baked goods, garden prayer poles, functional crafts, framed puzzle art, etc. A quilt drawing will also be held. For more information, visit www.NavidadValleyCC.com.

St. Ann Society & St. Joseph Society Rosary Crusade

St. Ann Society and St. Joseph Society of High Hill will host a rosary crusade on Saturday, March 20 at 10 a.m. at the gazebo in the parking lot on North Main Street. 

CDC Rules will be followed – masks will be required and six-foot spacing if not family. Chairs can be brought, if desired.

Schulenburg Little League Fried Fish Dinner

The drive-thru-only Little League fried fish dinner will be held on Friday, March 26 from 4:30 p.m. until sold out at High Hill Hall. Cost is $10 per plate (no presale tickets needed). The plates will include fried fish, beans, coleslaw, hush puppies and tartar sauce. For more information, call Greg Janda at 979-966-3755.

St. Rose HSA Golf Tournament

The St. Rose HSA’s first-ever golf tournament will be held on Saturday, March 27 at the Weimar Golf Course, with tee-off at 10 a.m. Cost is $80 a person for the four-man scramble. Teams will be flighted after play, with a maximum of 22 teams. Cash prizes will be given; lunch will be provided.

St. Rose HSA “Garden Par-Tee”

The St. Rose HSA will host a “Garden Par-Tee” on Saturday, March 27 at St. John Hall, 2076 FM 967, with social hour from 4 to 6 p.m. and a steak dinner at 6 p.m. Live and silent auctions will be held, a DJ will provide music and door prizes will be given. Must be 21 & over. Cost if $50 per ticket or $600 for a reserved VIP table for 8. American Legion Chicken Fried Chicken breast Dinner

American Legion McBride Post 143 will service a drive-thru-only chicken fried chicken breast dinner on Wednesday, April 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Legion Home in Wolters Park. The plates will include chicken fried chicken breast, white gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans and mixed vegetables. Tickets ($10 each) are available at Schulenburg Printing, Schulenburg Sticker, Grahmann’s True Value or from any Legion member. Only a limited number of tickets will be available at the drive-thru.

The Auxiliary will have bake sale items available for purchase.

Last year’s drive-thru was not held due to COVID; for anyone who has tickets from last year, they will be honored at this year’s drive-thru. 

KJT Society 129 Turkey Shoot

KJT Society 129 has scheduled a turkey shoot for Sunday, April 18 at 1 p.m. at Tofel’s Place in Ammannsville.
