This photo of a Lincoln’s Sparrow was taken southwest of Schulenburg this past weekend by John C. Landa Jr., “The Schulenbirder.” This species is migratory, and can be found in Schulenburg between October and May but not during the summer months. The Lincoln’s Sparrow tends to be solitary, not joining flocks. It feeds on seeds and insects, usually foraging on the ground near dense thickets.
