Andrew Charles Srubar

Andrew Charles Srubar, 65, of Ammannsville, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023.

Andrew was born in La Grange on Nov. 8, 1957, the son of August and MaryAnn (Pesl) Srubar. He married Nancy Klesel on Sept. 18, 1982, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Weimar. Andrew worked as an Equipment Assessment & Reliability Specialist at LCRA in La Grange for 44 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ammannsville, KJT Society #4 and La Grange Knights of Columbus #2574.

Andrew was a devoted husband, father and grandfather! He was not only full of knowledge and wisdom, but he was also the true definition of humble and kind. Andrew was a man of faith and followed his Catholic teachings to the best of his ability. No matter what was going on, whether it was a normal Sunday or on a family vacation, he made sure his family went to church every Sunday. When it came to family, his family was always his top priority, ensuring they were provided for, supported at extracurricular activities or taken on at least one family vacation per year!

Andrew never met a stranger, whether he was at a softball tournament or on the top of Pikes Peak, he always found a friend he knew or made a new one. While he worked hard for a living, he also worked hard for enjoyment both at home and out on the family farm. It was very rare that one would find him sitting idle because if he was not working, he was feeding his cows, gardening, making hay, making sausage, attending an event/ game of his kids or grandkids, hunting, sitting on the beach and the list goes on and on. If he was sitting idle, he would be sitting outside with a drink in his hand, enjoying the outdoors, conversing with family and looking for his purple martins.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Srubar; mother, MaryAnn Srubar of West Point; son, David Srubar and husband Colby of Cypress; two daughters, Megan Bartos and husband Kevin of High Hill, and Allison Webre and husband Robert of Houston; two grandchildren, Hannah and Lukas Bartos; two sisters, Debbie Charanza and husband Donnie of West Point, and Cindy Namken and husband Terry of Giddings; brother, Chris Srubar and wife Linda of Bertram; mother-in-law, Lillian Klesel of Weimar; brother-inlaw, Mike Klesel and wife Dolly of Dubina; five sisters-in-law, Diane Janda and husband Tony of Weimar, Cindy Marek and husband Danny of Dubina, Barbara Kubesch of Weimar, Susie Behlen and husband Douglas of Schulenburg, and Jackie Shaw and husband Jack of Red River, NM; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, August Srubar; father-in-law, Lawrence Klesel; and brother-in-law, Anton Kubesch.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. Family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ammannsville at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Burial followed at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Ammannsville.
