Anna Lee Harabis, 90, of Shiner, went to meet Jesus Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023.

Anna Lee was born Sept. 14, 1932, to Julius and Minnie Lorfing Mache and was the youngest of 10 children all raised on a farm in Schulenburg. She was a member of Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Shiner where she had been very active through the years and had served as its Teller.

After graduating from Rocky Creek School, Anna Lee went to work at Ben’s Café in Hallettsville and South Western Bell in Hallettsville. She married Daniel F. Harabis on Sept. 1, 1956. After raising her four children to school age, she went back to work at Bill’s Dollar Store and Dollar General.

Anna Lee was married to Daniel for over 66 years, and they were blessed with four children. She was a strong yet very kind woman with a beautiful smile. Loving and caring for her family was her greatest passion and she remained especially proud of them and in turn, as in Proverbs 31:28 “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”

Anna Lee is survived by her adoring family – husband, Daniel F. Harabis of Shiner; daughters, Doris Williams of Schertz, and Lynette Harabis of Shiner; sons, Clarence Harabis (Jeanette) of Victoria, and Daniel L. Harabis of San Antonio; grandchildren, Kristin Vaughan (Caleb), Matthew Williams and Michael Williams; three step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Esther Vecera of Seguin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elizabeth Koch, Sophie Mache, Emma Bellard, Elsie Skinner, Julie Weigelt and Minnie Collins; and brothers, Albert Mache and Leonard Mache.

The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023 in Shiner Funeral Home, with a prayer service following at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 in Dr. Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Shiner, with Pastor Chris Heinold officiating. Interment followed in the Shiner City Cemetery.
