Billie Faye Hough Wylie of Schulenburg passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 56.

Billie was born in Center, Texas, on Feb. 12, 1967, the daughter of Bill Hough and Retta Kuehn. Her early years were spent in Houston, eventually settling in Schulenburg to be closer to her family. She married Lance Wylie on May 4, 2007. She was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker most of her life.

Even through her multiple health issues, she was the life of every party. She had a laugh that could light up the darkest room. “She gave the very best hugs and made us all laugh until our sides hurt. We all say she was the greatest comedian we have ever known,” her family writes. “She doted on and spoiled her grandkids, her nieces and nephews, and her great-nieces and great-nephews. We are a large family and Billie loved hard and she loved completely. She never missed an opportunity to tell us she loved us.”

After her health declined, Hospice of South Texas cared for her while she was still at home and provided respite care and end-of-life care in its Dornburg Center of Compassion.

She is survived by her husband, Lance Wylie; her parents, Allen and Retta Kuehn; her children, Maranda Modisette, Larry Modisette Jr., and Kimberly Modisette; sisters, Debbie Highberg (Paul), Beth Hough (Brad), Melissa Hough and Jamie Clark (Joe Ben); brothers, Jimmy Roberts (Virginia), Mike Roberts and Grady Hough; grandchildren, Trent, Ethan, Aiden, Violet, Brycen, Khaden, Logan and Colton; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Texas, 605 E. Locust Avenue, Victoria, TX 77901.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com.
