Bob was born in Weimar on July 9, 1954. He grew up in Schulenburg and attended St. Rose elementary school and Bishop Forest High School. He graduated from Blinn Junior College, where he was sports editor of the college newspaper. He then attended The University of Texas, earning a degree in broadcast/journalism, and began his career in Conroe.

Bob began his public speaking age the age of 6 when he was a mascot for the Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department. During his high school and college career, he won over 60 speaking and writing awards, including a number of prestigious state and national trophies. When Bob was in his early 20s, he ran for State Representative in 1980, but came in second.

Bob was assistant sports director in Conroe. He also worked for KULM in Columbus while in college along with KIKK, KTRH and KPRC in Houston. He did work for CNN in Atlanta and KTSA in San Antonio. For the last 25 years, he worked for Media Consultants in Houston.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Bob loved his wit and humor. He was kind and generous. He also had an absolute love for animals, especially his dogs Chiques, Prince and Astro.

While he is no longer physically present, his soul carries on with the many lives he touched. “In his honor, we are tasked to live life to the fullest,” his family writes.

Bob’s memories will live on with his brother Rodney Gresser, and Bob’s soulmate Brenda and her sons Jordan and Brandon, along with various cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Irene Gresser; his grandparents, aunts and uncles; and his beloved dogs.

Bob had been sick for a number of years with diabetes and was on dialysis. In the last several months, his condition worsened and while in the hospital, the medical team discovered a brain tumor that was removed successfully, but Bob never recovered. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, Aug. 14, 2023.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to a local animal shelter or a charity of one’s choice.
