Deborah Joan Grant Patterson

Deborah Joan Grant Patterson, 63, of Waco, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at home surrounded by family in Schulenburg.

Deborah was born in Bremerton, WA on Oct. 17, 1959, the daughter of Jesse and Retta Jo (Barrington) Grant.

Debbie was a lifelong animal lover and worked for many years as a vet tech and pet groomer. She spent the last 23 years with her favorite companion dog, Tequila. She was passionate about riding motorcycles. She was deeply devoted to her family, especially her son and daughter. She enjoyed spending lots of time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by brother, William Biles and wife Marie; sister, Jane Grant and fiancé Pat Thompson; sister, Rachel Grant and her wife Kate Reeley; daughter, Jessica Cernosek and husband Craig; son, Curtis Harris and wife Chelsey; grandchildren, Gabrielle Cernosek, Hannah Bryant, Briana Bryant, Emily Bryant, Olivia Cernosek, Danny Mhyer Harris and Rachelle Brown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Retta Jo; father, Jesse; brothers, Jesse, Jerry and Charles; and grandson, Douglas Harris.

A Celebration of Life will be planned in the Waco area with time and date to be determined. Her ashes will then be taken to Silver Mine Creek Baptist Church in North Carolina to be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local Animal Shelter.
