Elizabeth Ann Walker Odom, 87, of Schulenburg, Texas, went to be with her Savior at 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Elizabeth was the much-adored wife of Nelson, patient and loving mother of Theresa, Jana, Traci and Jeri, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and that neighbor who keeps her eye on all the happenings. Elizabeth’s fierce determination to squeeze every last drop out of life was an inspiration to those who had the privilege of spending time with her. When the love of her life, Nelson, passed in 2021, she soldiered on because she knew her adult daughters needed more time before she left them without Dr. Mom to call. Always supportive and caring, Elizabeth steadfastly supported her daughters through life’s storms. Like her husband, she was a life-long Texan and proud of it! Elizabeth was a computer aficionado, starting in the days when building a PC from spare parts was how it was done. At The Computer Place, the shop she and her husband opened in Port Lavaca, Texas, she was the software brains of the outfit, creating systems for government and school districts.

Born in Long Mott, Texas on Dec. 16, 1935, Elizabeth passed, encircled by her four daughters … hanging on until all four were present just to make sure they had each other to cleave to in this difficult time.

Survivors include four daughters, Theresa Thackston, Houston, TX, Jana Semler, Schulenburg, TX, Traci Odom, New Braunfels, TX and Jeri Green, Riverside, TX; her brother, Tom Walker of Cleveland, TN; sister, Linda Campbell of Schulenburg, TX; and five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

At this time no memorial service has been planned; however, those wishing to pay tribute to this amazing woman and her dear Nelson, may do so by contributing to the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry.
