Born April 10, 1925 in Schulenburg, she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Adela (Huebner) Anders. She attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. On Sept. 27, 1948, she married Alfons R. Narendorf at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg.

After her marriage, she and her husband lived in Galveston for four years before moving to San Antonio in 1952, where she had resided since. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in San Antonio.

She was a housewife and mother. She enjoyed baking – her homemade bread was so good that as soon as it came out of the oven, whoever got the crust was lucky! She also made the best glazed prune doughnuts. She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables from the garden every year, and even though she lived in San Antonio, there were always chickens in the back yard and plenty of fresh eggs.

Survivors include a daughter, Bernadette Gillings of Schulenburg; three sisters, Mary Berger of Porter, Emma Tupa of Houston and Anita Peters of Columbus; a brother, Gus Anders and wife Doris of La Grange; a granddaughter, Tracy Goldblatt; and three great-grandchildren, Johanna, Rachel and Sarah Goldblatt.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph and Adela Anders; husband, Alfons; son, Eugene Narendorf; grandsons, Bruce Gillings Jr. and Ryan Gillings; sisters, Irene Alley and Dorothy Lyssyj; and brothers, Paul Anders, Joseph Anders and Leo Anders.

Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
