Robert Samuel Kocian of Moulton passed away on Wednesday, April 12 at Cinco Ranch Specialty Care in Katy at age 79 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born on April 7, 1944 to the late Adolph and Victoria Kocian. Bob attended high school in the Denver Harbor area of Houston. After graduation, Bob went on to several jobs leading to a career as an electrician for Arco. He continued this position for 25 years, retiring with Lyondel Basell in 2000. He met his beloved wife Lynda Gregory in 1969 and they were soon married. They resided in Houston until Bob’s retirement in 2000 and soon after moved to their ranch in Moulton and enjoyed raising cattle. Bob was an avid car collector and devout Catholic. He had a quiet but quick wit that would keep people smiling. His love for all types of music earned him the nickname “Karaoke” at the local auto parts store. Bob and Lynda enjoyed life together with many pets. They enjoyed being outdoors and fishing but mostly being together.

Lynda preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2019. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by brothers Jerry J. Kocian and Daniel Kocian along with sisters Hattie (Kocian) Worn, Georgia A. (Kocian) Starnader and Adela (Kocian) Schieshl.

He is survived by one sister, Annette (Kocian) Wake and Don M. Wake of Pasadena. He is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Weimar. Interment took place at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Praha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter in Fayette County or to any Parkinson’s related foundations. After their beloved Chloe passed, Bob’s heart was won over by his beloved yellow lab, Diesel, who came from the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter.
