Ryan Gillings, 45, of Hopkinton, New Hampshire, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

He was born on Sept. 25, 1977 at John Moses Regional Air Force Hospital in Minot, North Dakota, to Bernadette and Bruce Gillings. He attended St. Leo the Great Catholic School and Bishop Ryan High School in Minot, N.D. After attending the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, Ryan moved to Arizona, and while participating in a golf tournament with some high school friends, he met his future wife, Paula Stolicker. They were married in California on June 27, 2004. After living several years in Michigan, they moved to Idaho and then on to New Hampshire.

Ryan loved their pet cats and dogs, and because of his love for all animals, he was a vegetarian. He enjoyed photography and making improvements to their homes. He was very talented in wood-working and remodeling, and left each home in which they lived much improved. He also excelled in his career as a senior software engineer.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfons Narendorf, and Bessie and Stanley Wilson; father, Bruce Gillings; and brother, Bruce Gillings Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Paula; step-daughter, Ayla Babel; grandmother, Lorene Narendorf of San Antonio; mother, Bernadette Gillings of Schulenburg; sister, Tracy Goldblatt; and nieces, Johanna, Rachel and Sarah Goldblatt.

Ryan was an exceptional human being who was so lived by his wife, family and everyone who knew him, and will be sorely missed.

Ryan was cremated and burial will take place at a later date, when he will be laid to rest next to his father and brother in Minot, North Dakota.
