Sharon Baker of Schulenburg passed away here on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020 at 1:31 a.m. She died of natural causes at age 77 years, 3 months, 15 days.

The funeral was held at First Baptist Church of Schulenburg on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020 at 10 a.m., with Pastor David Thompson officiating. Interment took place in the Old High Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Giesy, Neil Wendt, Tristan Wendt, Dillon Giesy, Matthew Jackson and John Salem. Named as honorary pallbearers were Jim Baumgarten, Bob Parish, Clyde Steapp, Reed Jones and Will Homrighaus.

Born in Houston on April 24, 1943, she was the daughter of Cecil and Lois (Weir) Baker. She attended Milby High School in Houston. A longtime Houston resident, she worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and retired to Schulenburg in 2000. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Schulenburg.

Survivors include a daughter, Kimberli Wendt and husband Neil of Schulenburg; a son, Kevin Giesy of San Diego, Calif.; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her companion, Jim Baumgarten of Schulenburg.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Lois (Weir) Baker and Cecil Baker, and a sister, Beverly Pemberton.

Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
