For second straight week, Horns hit with overtime heartbreak

Only six of 26 possessions ended without a touchdown last Friday in Burton as the Shorthorns and Panthers combined for 1,168 yards on 121 snaps for an astounding 9.65 yards per play.

Lady Horns notch wins over 4A foes

After a sweep of Giddings and a 3-1 win over La Grange last week, the Lady Horns improved to 20-12 on the season.The matches, both against Class 4A schools, took place at Schulenburg ISD Gym.Greenli Van Zandt led the way last Tuesday with 19 kills in the 3-0 victory over the Lady Buffaloes.

XC runners compete in Navasota meet

Schulenburg High School’s cross country runners traveled to Navasota last Wednesday, Sept. 10 to compete in the Rattler Invitational at August Horst Park.Ellie Hammack led the Lady Horns with a fifth-place finish while Victor Mandujano had the top finish for the Shorthorns at 35th.

Horns travel to Wallis this Friday to take on Brazos

After two overtime losses, the Shorthorns will look to get back into the win column this Friday against Brazos.Kickoff in Wallis is set for 7:30 p.m.So far in 2025, the Cougars have wins over Hempstead (54-6), Buna (53-32), and Katy St. John XXIII (58-0).
