Fayette Savings presents baskets for Teacher Appreciation Week

St. Rose students place at District 9A PSIA Academic Meet in Cuero

Students at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in grades 1-8 had the opportunity to participate in the District 9A Private Schools Interscholastic Association (PSIA) meet held on Friday, Feb. 16, at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Cuero. Changes made to Fayette Jr. Livestock Show

The Fayette County Junior Livestock Show officers, committee chairs, committee members, community representatives, advisors and agents met on April 30 for an open forum followed by a closed meeting. The board approved the following changes for the 2025 Fayette County Junior Livestock Show: •Any 4-H club, FFA or FHA member (boy or girl) enrolled in a public school, private school or home-schooled in Fayette County, OR whose permanent address is in Fayette County, is eligible to show and sell upon invitation by the show committee – provided that the exhibitor does not show at another local stock show in Fayette County or surrounding counties.

Fayette Electric Cooperative announces 2024 scholarship recipients

The recipients of the Fayette Electric Cooperative Academic Scholarship are Andrea Eckermann of Bellville High School, Alivia Eindorf of La Grange High School, Kelly McAfee of Weimar High School and Brooke Wanjura of Columbus High School.

VVA scholarships go to Redding, Sanchez

Brooke Redding (left) and Rilee Sanchez (center) were presented scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 at the Schulenburg High Senior Scholarship Banquet held on Wednesday, May 8. Redding received the VVA Chapter 870 scholarship and Sanchez was awarded the Jimmy Baresh Memorial Scholarship.
