‘90 Miles on 90’ Yard & Antique Sales
“90 Miles on 90” featuring more than 90 miles of yard and antique sales will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 7-8 along Highway 90 and throughout participating towns, which include Columbus, Glidden, Weimar, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Waelder, Harwood, Luling and Seguin.

‘90 on 90’ spaces, brisket sandwiches at St. Paul’s
For the annual “90 on 90” sales event set for Friday and Saturday, June 7-8, spaces are available on Highway 90 across the street from St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. The 10-foot by 10-foot spaces are $15 each. Anyone interested can call Jana at 301-606-0775.
St. Paul’s will also be selling barbecue brisket sandwiches during “90 on 90” both Friday and Saturday, June 7-8 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
St. Rose Parish Picnic
St. Rose of Lima Parish will hold its annual picnic on Sunday, June 9 at the KC Hall. Fried chicken/sausage plates with potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans and dessert will be $13 each, with bake sale items available. Drive-thru will start at 10:30 a.m. and dine-in at 11 a.m. A live auction will start at 12:30 p.m. An online auction will be open for bidding June 9-14 (http://charityauction.bid/strosechurch).
Music will be by the Matt Bonner Band along with Alvin Minarcik starting at 4:30 p.m., once the auction ends. Hamburgers, tamales, nachos, fruit cups, etc. will be served starting at 3:30 p.m. There will also be bingo (1 to 5 p.m. in the Family Life Center) cake/plant walks, country store and R&R Shaved Ice.
A Kid Zone will be open featuring bounce houses, water slides, sandpit, face-painting, coloring contest, toy raffle, ring toss, ball throw, duck pond and R&R Shaved Ice along with a balloon artist (1 p.m.) and magic show (2 p.m.). Wrist bands will be required for the bounce house and water slides; tickets, for the ball throw, ring toss and toy raffle.
Ammannsville Parish Picnic
St. John the Baptist Church in Ammannsville will hold its 134th-year picnic on Sunday, June 16. A fried chicken/sausage meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., dine-in or plates-to-go, costing $13 per plate.
Music during the day and night will be provided by Mark Halata & Texavia and Czechaholics. Hamburgers will be served starting at 4 p.m. There will also be an auction at 1 p.m., plinko, cake walk, bingo, ring toss, surprise packages, toy walk, country store, snow cones, duck pond, etc.
Juneteenth Federal Holiday
Juneteenth is now a federal holiday and government offices, including the Post Office, will be closed on Wednesday, June 19. Because the Sticker is mailed on Wednesday, mail subscribers will receive the June 20 issue a day late. This only affects mail subscribers and the Sticker will be distributed as usual to newsstands, sales outlets and e-subscribers.
The City of Schulenburg and Fayette County offices will also be closed on Wednesday, June 19. Juneteenth has been observed as a federal holiday since 2021.
