Combined Community Action’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the home bound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Local Food Pantry serves 119 families during May

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 119 families in May with a total of 345 individuals. The Pantry had two new clients with three individuals in those families. The amount of food given out was 6,343 pounds. Food donated was 2,034 pounds. Volunteer hours were 298.

God’s Embrace Ministries joyfully celebrated the completion of year one of its Spiritual Directors Institute, a three-year formation program designed to prepare faithful Catholics to accompany others in the spiritual life through the ministry of spiritual direction.

Animal Shelter statistics

The Gardenia E. JanssenAnimal Shelter hours of operation are as follows: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations.On Monday, the shelter is closed to the public but staff is on-site for animal care from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
