FEC, Co-Bank award grants to 4 nonprofits

Through the Sharing Success Charitable Contribution Program, Fayette Electric Cooperative recently presented four area nonprofit organizations with donations of $5,000 each. The recipients were CASA of Bastrop, Fayette and Lee Counties; Hospice Brazos Valley; Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center; and Turtle Wing Foundation.

Shorthorns Forever lists 4 more grants recipients

The Shorthorns Forever Association awarded its annual grants to Sculenburg ISD in May. A total of $3,769.55 was given this year to help further the education of students. This brings the total to $18,921.27 given from 2015-2020.

Combined Community Action is continuing its meals program for those age 60 and older. Frozen dinners are being provided for clients – five meals for five days of the week.

We’ve all caught ourselves doing it, weeding someone else’s garden, metaphorically that is. We look in the next pew and think, Hmph! What a mess his/ her life is in. If everyone knew what I knew, they’d be cast out quick! And in that rush to judge, we forget the briar hedge of sin in our own life.
