St. James Missionary Baptist Church Fish Fry
St. James MBC will hold a building fundraiser fish fry on Friday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with pickup at St. James MBC, 1103 James Ave. The $12 plates will include fried fish, two sides and dessert. To reserve plates, contact Rev. Andrew Stafford at 979-997-1207 or 210-475-1992.
Community Good Friday Service
The community Good Friday service hosted by the Schulenburg Ministerial Alliance will be held at United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Swiss Alp, on April 3 at noon. A meal with Connie Koopmann’s chicken spaghetti will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor J.P. Kessie of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church will preach. United Evangelical Lutheran Church is located at 2038 FM 3171 off Highway 77 north of Schulenburg.
Second Chance Emporium Schedule for Easter Weekend
The Second Chance Emporium sales store and donations drop-off area will be closed Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4 in observance of the Easter holiday. Holy Week, Easter Services at First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, 110 North Upton Ave., will hold MaundyThursday service on April 2 at 6 p.m.
On Easter Sunday, April 5, sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m., Sunday School will begin at 9:30 a.m. and worship service will start at 10:45 a.m., followed by an Easter egg hunt for children nursery-age to fifth grade.

Freyburg Methodist Church Easter Sunrise Service
Freyburg Methodist Church, 4520 FM 2238 northwest of Schulenburg, will hold an Easter sunrise service on Sunday, April 5 at 7:30 a.m. Afterward, breakfast/brunch will be served in the Fellowship Haus. All are invited. For more information, contact Junette Rodecap at 979-743-0623.
Moulton Catholic Church Easter Picnic
The Moulton Catholic Church will hold an Easter picnic on Sunday, April 5 at the St. Joseph’s Social Center. Mass will be at 10 a.m. followed by an Easter egg hunt. A fried chicken dinner for $15 per plate will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. (dine inside, drive-thru plates-to-go and fried chicken-to-go will be available).

Schulenburg Sausagefest
The 11th annual Schulenburg Sausagefest will be held on Saturday, April 11 in downtown Schulenburg from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. It’s the only festival in Texas with sausage-making contests plus homemade wine, sauerkraut and pickles.
Activities will start at 11:15 a.m. with the “Shortest Parade in Texas.” Live music will feature Czechaholics, Matt Bonner Band and Mark Halata & Texavia. There will be a hog-calling contest, sausage-toss contest, arts/ crafts vendors, grand march, children’s activities, fun run, American Legion black bean motorcycle ride, biergarten and food. Admission is free.
