The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 154 families in September with a total of 450 individuals. The Pantry had nine new clients with a total of 33 individuals. The total amount of food given out was 7,733 pounds. Food donated was 4,673 pounds. The volunteer hours were 353.
The Pantry would like to say a big thank you to an anonymous donor who donated 422 pounds of hamburger meat in September, and also a big thank you to HEB in La Grange for donating $1,500 worth of gift cards. This helps the Pantry buy items from HEB when the Pantry is in short supply and the Food Bank in Austin does not have the items.
The Pantry also has donors who make a monthly donation. These donors are so important to the operation of the Food Pantry. No matter how big or how small the donations, they help the Food Pantry in the distribution of food to clients.
