At Senior Connections, last week was a full week of activities, meeting with people and being mission-oriented as well as celebrating a season of thankfulness together.
On Monday, Nov. 13, Dustin LaBat, owner and manager of Specklebelly Farms, was the lunch-and-learn speaker. He and his wife own Specklebelly Farms, located between Weimar and Columbus on Highway 90.
Specklebelly Farms is a “Upick” fruit and vegetable farm focusing primarily on a variety of blackberries, figs, garden vegetables and cut flowers. Specklebelly Farms is also a partner with many of the surrounding colleges and universities regarding the best plants to plant and harvest, the latest on organic techniques and organic pest control.
