Twelve student-athletes on the Angelo State University track and field teams, including James Cason Brown from Schulenburg, have been named 2023 NCAA Division II All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To be eligible for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, must have completed at least 24 credit hours, and must have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either the indoor or outdoor national meet.
Brown, a 2018 honor graduate of Schulenburg High School, is the son of Brandon and Dee Brown. He is a graduate student majoring in Coaching/Sport/Rec/Fit/Admin at Angelo State.
