The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter (GJAS) is excited to announce the launch of its new “Tales for Tails Reading Club,” a kid-friendly program designed to help children build reading confidence while providing comfort and socialization to shelter dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.

Colorado Valley Communications (CVCTX) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Rural Scholarship Fund awards. A total of $65,000 has been awarded to 13 outstanding graduating seniors from across area high schools.

John Everett DAR donates book to St. Rose

Members of the John Everett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in Columbus recently donated Texas Before the Lone Star to elementary schools across Austin and Colorado counties as well as to St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg.
