NVCW offers collegiate scholarship

Navidad Valley CattleWomen (NVCW) are offering the first Elsie Farek Collegiate Scholarship and the deadline to apply is Wednesday, Dec. 31.Applicants interested in being considered must be graduates of a high school in Lavaca, Fayette or Colorado counties or the equivalent thereof.

Fayette 4-H’ers compete in District 4-H Food Challenge, Food Show

Twenty-four Fayette County 4-H’ers competed in the 2025 District 11 4-H Food Show and Food Challenge contest on Monday, Dec. 8 and Tuesday, Dec. 9 in Cuero.

SISD students to perform ‘Christmas in Land of Oz’

The Schulenburg High School theater students will present the play “Christmas in the Land of Oz” by Tamara Tudor for the public on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.The play will also be performed for the elementary students on Monday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.

At the Schulenburg Unit of the Boys & Girls Club, member Brooklyn Goode really got into the Christmas spirit by helping decorate the Club’s Christmas tree! Members love helping spruce up the Club for each holiday and putting their own creative spin to make the Club space feel cozy for everyone!

For any student who was awarded a Stanzel scholarship upon graduating from high school, that scholarship may still be able to support the student’s education – even years later.
