Michael ‘5-0’ Ohnheiser for Mayor 

Michael “5-0” Ohnheiser has announced his candidacy for mayor by giving the following statement: My name is Michael (5-0) Ohnheiser and I am running for mayor of the City of Schulenburg. I am 72 years old and retired. I have lived in Schulenburg all my life. I am a 1971 graduate of Bishop Forest High School.

I was drafted into the U.S. Army in June of '72 and honorably discharged in June of 1974 as a Specialist 4. I served 12½ months overseas in South Korea. I am a life member of the American Legion McBride Post 143 for 51 years. I also served as a member of the Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department, serving as foreman of Company No. 1. I served on various committees, including the buying of a new pumper truck.

I have 25 years experience in the construction business. I managed Central Concrete Inc. I dealt with local contractors and did federal and government jobs on I-10.Also, I attended concrete classes put on by cement companies. I can read blueprints. I also have experience Michael ‘5-0’ Ohnheiser in maintenance at Dairy Farmers of America.

I am running for mayor because voters want change. I am willing to listen to the voters on their needs. We need voters to come to City Council meetings for their input on things going on in the city. It makes the Council's decisions easier with your input. I am always ready to listen. I drive around – you want to talk, flag me down or come by. If you want change, I urge everyone to vote May 3rd.
