National Voter Registration Day designated at City Council meeting

At their regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 18, Schulenburg Mayor Connie Koopmann and the Schulenburg City Council passed a proclamation honoring Tuesday, Sept. 19 as National Voter Registration Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday designed to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to vote.

Traffic stop results in arrest of Bastrop woman

A Bastrop woman was arrested on two charges following a traffic stop by Deputy Cody Williams on Wednesday, Sept. 20 on Highway 77 between La Grange and Warda, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek. Sheriff Korenek reports that at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The Schulenburg Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect. On Friday, Sept. 8, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the subject in the photograph drove his truck into a building at The Texan, causing damage, and drove off without reporting it to anyone.
