Sept. sales tax allocations total $1.04 billion

Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Thursday, Sept. 8 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.04 billion in local sales tax allocations for September, 13.1 percent more than in September 2021.

Cocaine found during traffic stop on I-10 near Flatonia

Cocaine was located and two arrests were made following a traffic stop by Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith on Interstate 10 just west of Flatonia on Tuesday, Sept. 6, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Sheriff's Report

August 2022 Sheriff Keith Korenek reports these activities of Fayette County deputies for August.  Detective Marc Bennett is working with CPS in reference to multiple child neglect cases. Bennett is also investigating a credit card abuse case involving an elderly victim.  Sgt.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 170 calls for service and two reportable incidents were investigated during the week of Sept. 3-9. Included  were one counterfeit bills, and one family violence call. •Sept.
