Fayette Electric annual meeting slated July 16

Fayette Electric Cooperative has invited all members to attend its annual membership meeting on Wednesday, July 16 at the KC Community Center, located at 190 South Brown Street in La Grange. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for registration, and the business meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m.

Schulenburg Police Dept. gets $3,122 NRA grant

The NRA Foundation has awarded the Schulenburg Police Department a grant totaling $3,122 to fund the purchase of duty weapons.“We are very excited about utilizing the grant funds to assist with this specific purchase.

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced on Wednesday, July 9 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for July, 4.5 percent more than in July 2024.
