Mayor Connie Koopmann has signed a proclamation announcing Friday, May 23 as “Poppy Day” in Schulenburg.The blood red, four-petal flower, native to the battle fields of Flanders, was officially proclaimed the “Memorial Flower” at the 1921 National American Legion Auxiliary Convention.
