Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that during the week of April 13 -19, officers responded to 121 calls for service and three reportable incidents were investigated as follows: •April 17 – Officers Castilleja and Svatek responded to assist another agency with a pursuit.

Reminder to not burn in dry, windy weather

Fayette County officials have been receiving calls from residents asking for the burn ban to be reinstated, according to a press release from the Fayette County judge's office dated Tuesday, April 15.

Emergency preparedness sales tax holiday slated

As severe weather season approaches, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reminds Texans they can purchase certain items tax-free during the state’s sales tax holiday for emergency preparation supplies, which begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, and ends at midnight on Monday, April 28.
