VTR68-A vehicle inspections available in Lee County

As of January, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office is handling VTR68-Avehicle inspections, and through an agreement between Lee County Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger and Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, this new program is available for citizens in Lee and Fayette counties.

Man dies in machinery accident at gravel pit near Ellinger on Jan. 30

Amachinery accident involving a fatality occurred at a gravel pit near Ellinger on Thursday, Jan. 30 at approximately 11:30 a.m., according to Fayette County EMS Director Josh Vandever.The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department, Fayette County EMS and Fayette County Sheriff's Office all responded.

Stolen skid steer located in Fayette Co.

Investigators with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received information on Monday, Jan. 27 about a skid steer that had been stolen from a job site in Tomball possibly being in Fayette County in the area of Prairie Valley Road near Plum, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

First Day Hikes record broken at State Parks

For the third consecutive year, Texas State Parks launched the new year by breaking historical participation numbers at First Day Hikes events around the state.On Jan. 1, 83 state parks hosted 178 events where 9,484 participants hiked for a combined 18,932 miles.
