Four plant-related classes set at Blinn-Schulenburg

The Blinn College-Schulenburg campus is offering four plant-related courses this fall.Classes will range from vegetable gardening to natural health remedies. They are:•“Central Texas Vegetable Gardening,” Tuesday and Thursday, Sept. 17 and 19.

25th annual Texas Sales Tax Holiday slated Aug. 9-11

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reminds shoppers they can save money on clothes and school supplies during the state’s sales tax holiday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9-11. This will be the 25th year of Texas’ oldest sales tax holiday, an annual event since 1999.

Young Farmers set hay show at Fayette Co. Fair

The Schulenburg Young Farmers will hold their 57th annual hay show on Wednesday, Aug. 28 and Thursday, Aug. 29 in conjunction with the Fayette County Fair in La Grange.Judging will take place at 1 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Emily Fritsch Pavilion at the Fairgrounds. The hay sale will begin at 8 p.m.
