A discussion was held at the Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting on Thursday, Dec. 22 on the process of private roads becoming county-maintained.
The topic was brought up by Precinct 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann. Currently, when a developer wishes to have a road in a subdivision become a countymaintained road, the process involves the road being built at the developer’s expense. After one year of being established, it is turned over to the county for maintenance.
Brossmann explained that the one-year mark concerns him for some of these roads which the county is taking on, using as an example the High Hill Ranch Subdivision.
