Traffic stop by SPD leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop by Schulenburg Police Department officers Saturday night resulted in a La Grange man being arrested for drug possession.

According to the SPD report, a vehicle was pulled over in the 600 block of WestAvenue for a traffic violation at 9:40 p.m. on Dec. 17. While speaking with the driver, officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, leading to a probable-cause search, the report stated.

Officers located approximately .75 of a gram of THC wax/oils, 262 grams of Promethazine cough syrup for which the driver did not have a prescription, and 3.5 ounces of marijuana, according to the report.
