Kaz McBride (PHOTO #1) and Reid Janda (PHOTO #2) hit tee shots during the first round of the Class 2A boys’ state golf tournament last week at Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin. The Shorthorns finished eighth in the field of 12 teams. McBride, as the lone senior, played in his last event for Schulenburg High School while Janda, a freshman, paced the Horn squad with a two-day total of 161.
