State & area unemployment rates increase in September

The Texas unemployment rate rose to 8.3 percent in September, from 6.8 percent the previous month, after dipping from the high of 13.5 percent in April 2020 when the peak of COVID-19 impacts occurred, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
