Third generation of Klesel family joins Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home

For almost 70 years, families have entrusted the care of their loved ones to a Klesel at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. Clayton Klesel had already become a third generation funeral director/embalmer and, now, joins the local business with his father and uncle, Bryan and Mark.

Council hears sesquicentennial plans

Some tentative ideas of how to celebrate Schulenburg’s 150th birthday were brought to the City Council at its meeting Monday County Judge DanMuellertook on the task of putting together a committee to plan for the sesquicentennial event prior to assuming office at the first of the year.

Ballot order set, early voting starts April 24 in local elections

The City of Schulenburg and Schulenburg ISD will be holding a joint election on Saturday, May 6 at the Schulenburg Public Library, 310 Simpson St. The polling site will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day.
